The firm

A crew that does one thing: where the water goes

Ballard Drainage & Grading is a crew of ten in Greenville. We do not mow, plant or build decks.

Jazmine Ballard started the firm to give homeowners an honest answer about their wet yard: what is causing it, what the options are, and what each would involve. Every job begins with a drawing, and nothing is dug until you have read it.

  • We draw it first and you read it before we dig

  • We call 811 before every trench

  • We tell you when a drain is the wrong fix

The crew

Who you will meet

  • A woman in glasses, overalls and yellow work gloves tends seedlings in a plant nursery

    Jazmine Ballard

    Owner

Walks every site visit herself and draws the scope. Talks you through the options before she names a number.

  • An older man in work gloves waters plants with a hose beside a box truck

    Elwood Ross

    Crew lead

Runs the dig crew. Marks the line, checks the fall and puts the lawn back.

  • A smiling woman in a hat and overalls with a tool belt kneels among garden flowers

    Brittany Barrett

    Site supervisor

Plans each job, orders stone and pipe, and calls 811. Your contact once the scope is signed.

How we work

Three habits

  • We draw it first

A plan of your lot with the pipe runs and outlets, before any digging.

  • We call 811

Underground lines are marked before a trench opens, every time.

  • We leave it flat

Trenches are filled, compacted and covered, and we tell you how to water the new sod.
